Job Description: Retail of Glow Novelties and LED novelties at major citi-sponsored
music events. This will be my 40th year on the road.
Since I am on the road for five months+ every year I have to hook up to WiFi in whatever hotel I am in. This means a new city and hotel every weekend. We book to have a show every weekend without any down time. At least 50% of the hotels I stay in are not protected, or the protection is so minimal it could easily be hacked into.
I have to order merchandise and do online banking and "Hide My IP" is a excellent tool to prevent intrusion into a computer on an unprotected network. Hackers or identity thieves that want to monitor your online activities or steal your identity or other personal information cannot do so as your IP is constantly changing and you are not identifiable to these threats. I recommend this product to all travelers who work on the road.
Note: This program does not in any way slow your computer. In some cases I have noticed that it actually loaded pages faster. "Hide My IP's" servers are blazing fast ! I have tried over the years several WiFi software protection products but they almost always slow down your browsing to a level that is irritating and non-productive in my busy routine. Firewalls and other security suites should be implemented but with "Hide My IP" you have the added protection of becoming anonymous. Keyloggers, Trojans, Spyware and Malware are stopped at the source and never reach your computer
The programs features are:
Your computer makes a direct connection to the web sites you visit. When you activate Hide My IP, an anonymous proxy server is set to relay information between you and the web sites you visit, web sites see only the fake relay IP and not your real IP address. Hide My IP always tells you if you are up and running and what the fake IP is. Your real IP is also shown to further insure you that the program is doing what it is supposed to do in real time.
The program may be used on most browsers: Windows Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Maxthon,Google Chrome, Netscape, Opera, Safari, MyIE, Avant Browser and others. Hide My IP may also be used in many email clients as well:Yahoo, Hotmail, GMail, Outlook, Outlook Express, and others.
With the "Encrypt My Connection" feature, the program creates a secure 128-bit encrypted link between your computer and your hidden IP. This is not available on the free product but I would advise buying the program for the extra's that are available.
All in all, I believe this to be a perfect choice for people that work on the road but is also a very good product for any office, large or small that wants to bring their security to the maximum level.
